Our Contractors and their Sub-Contractors, having had the benefit of a long period of dry weather, are well on with the refurbishment work having initially 'stripped out' then proceeded without delay to have the new roof installed closely followed by the fitting of new double glazed PVC windows. The electrician then completed his 'first fix' They then lined the Hall with insulation material, covered it with 3/4" ply then 1/2" plasterboard and it is now plastered with a dado rail all the way round. New suspended ceilings have been installed to the toilets, kitchen and Den and they have even done a bit of plumbing work.All this is covered by their items 1 - 12 and 14 and if you refer to this chart you will see that they are well ahead.
And it feels warm already and it looks great!
On the matter of fund-raising, we are now past £5000 thanks to the many donations received, some following the articles in the local media but mostly as a response to my letter of appeal and mainly from current and past members of The Supporters Club as well as Scouts of some year's ago. We have also received a donation from the Keeo's employer and, following an initial 'sponsored shoeshine', £60 from (the parents of) Beavers.
I am sure there is more to come.
